What the sheet is actually doing
Most yards that “run on Excel” are using it as a delayed copy of reality: someone listed on eBay, then typed the SKU into a workbook, then hoped the location column stayed true. The errors show up as “we listed it twice,” “we cannot find it for the picker,” and “we shipped the wrong engine code.”
Keep a sheet for the edges, not the pipeline
Buying a car, converter codes you scribble at the scale, or a one-off auction bid can stay in a workbook. The path from donor → live listing → location → shipped order should not. Salvage Logix stores OEM numbers against the donor VIN as you post, which is listing memory—not a licensed interchange file, and not a tab named FITMENT_FINAL_v7.
