Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
Salvage Logix (“Salvage Logix,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides software and related services for salvage yards and automotive parts sellers, including websites at salvagelogix.com and salvagelogix.app (together, the “Services”).
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you visit our sites, create an account, subscribe to paid plans, use checkout or payment features (including Amazon Pay where offered), connect third-party accounts such as eBay or a Facebook Page for Messenger, or contact us.
By using the Services, you acknowledge this Privacy Policy. Our Terms of Service govern your use of the Services.
2. We never sell your data
Salvage Logix will never sell your personal information or user data to third parties. We do not sell, rent, or trade your information for money or other valuable consideration. We do not share your data with third parties for their own unrelated advertising or marketing without your consent where required by law.
We use personal information only to operate and improve the Services, bill your subscription, provide support, and fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. Service providers who help us run the platform (such as hosting, billing, or email) may process data on our behalf under contract—they are not buying your data.
3. Information we collect
We may collect the following categories of information:
- Account and profile data: name, email address, password (stored in hashed form), phone number, job title, company or yard name, business address, account type, team role, and preferences you provide when registering or updating your profile.
- Billing and subscription data: plan selection, billing period, subscription status, invoices, transaction references, tax identifiers where applicable, and billing contact details. Payment card numbers and bank account numbers are processed by our payment partners (see Section 6); we do not store full payment card numbers on our servers.
- Amazon Pay and Login with Amazon: if you choose Amazon Pay or sign in with Amazon, we may receive information Amazon shares with us to complete checkout and manage recurring billing—such as your name, email address, shipping or billing address, and a payment authorization reference (for example, a billing agreement ID or charge permission ID). We do not receive your full Amazon account password or full payment card number from Amazon.
- Business and listing data: vehicle records, parts data, listing content, photos, company profile fields, eBay policy names, and other operational data you enter into the Services.
- Connected third-party data: when you connect integrations (for example, eBay or Facebook), we receive tokens and account identifiers needed to operate the integration, plus data returned by those services per your authorization.
- Facebook Page and Instagram: if a yard owner connects Facebook, we receive a Facebook user identifier, the Page name and Page id they choose, and a Page access token so we can receive and send Messenger on that Page. Instagram is optional and separate: we only store an Instagram account id and username if the owner later connects Instagram. We store inbound and outbound message text, sender identifiers (such as a Page Scoped ID), timestamps, and thread status so the conversation can appear in Messages on salvagelogix.com. We may send a short availability reply when a buyer asks if a part is still available and our inventory lookup is clear. When the yard turns on Facebook vehicle posts, we publish to that Page using the vehicle's real photos and fields (year, make, model, stock number, and other details the yard entered). Instagram posts happen only if Instagram is connected and enabled. We store the resulting post or media ids so the same vehicle is not posted twice, and we may store the last publish error to show under Settings → Socials. This is Page Messenger and optional Page/Instagram posts — Facebook Marketplace inbox and Marketplace listings are different products and are not included here. Buyers who message a connected Page are not creating a Salvage Logix account; their messages are stored because the yard asked us to operate that inbox. Disconnect Facebook under Account removes the Page token and any Instagram identifiers. Disconnect Instagram under Account removes only Instagram. Message history and prior post ids already stored are kept with the yard's account until the organization deletes data as described in Section 12, unless a shorter deletion is required by law.
- Communications: messages you send through contact forms, support requests, email, SMS where enabled, and feedback you provide.
- Marketing preferences: email addresses and opt-in or opt-out choices for product updates, newsletters, or promotional messages.
- Technical and usage data: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, operating system, pages viewed, referring URLs, timestamps, session identifiers, cookies, and diagnostic logs used to operate, secure, and improve the Services.
4. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Services;
- Create and manage accounts and authenticate users;
- Process subscriptions, payments, renewals, refunds, and billing disputes;
- Publish and manage listings and connected marketplace workflows you request;
- Display Facebook Page Messenger conversations you connect, send replies you authorize (including limited automatic availability replies), and publish Page or Instagram posts you enable (for example, new vehicles after photos are added);
- Send transactional messages (receipts, security alerts, account notices, service updates);
- Provide customer support and respond to inquiries;
- Detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, and security incidents;
- Comply with law, enforce our Terms, and protect our rights and users;
- Send marketing communications where permitted by law and your choices (see Section 9).
We use personal information only for purposes consistent with this Privacy Policy and applicable law, including obligations that apply when we offer Amazon Pay or other payment methods.
5. Legal bases (where applicable)
If you are in a jurisdiction that requires a legal basis for processing (such as the European Economic Area or United Kingdom), we rely on: performance of a contract (providing the Services you requested); legitimate interests (security, improvement, and communication about your account); consent (where required for marketing or optional features); and legal obligation.
6. Payments, Amazon Pay, and billing partners
Paid subscriptions and checkout are handled through trusted payment and billing partners. Depending on the payment method you select, partners may include Chargebee (subscription billing), Amazon Pay (where enabled), and/or other payment gateways configured for your region.
Amazon Pay. When you pay with Amazon Pay on Salvage Logix, Amazon processes your payment credentials according to Amazon's Privacy Notice. We receive only the information Amazon and our billing partners share with us to complete your order, establish recurring billing where applicable, and provide customer support. We will not use information received through Amazon Pay in a manner inconsistent with this Privacy Policy or applicable law, and we will not ask you to provide full card or bank details on our site when you have chosen Amazon Pay for that transaction.
Other payment methods. If you pay by card or another method, that payment is processed by the applicable gateway. We receive confirmation, tokens, or references needed for billing—not your full card number.
7. How we share information
Sharing is not selling. We may share personal information only as described below—we still will never sell your data (see Section 2).
We may share personal information with:
- Service providers that host infrastructure, process payments, send email, provide analytics, or otherwise help us operate the Services (for example, cloud hosting, Chargebee, Amazon Pay, email delivery, and fraud prevention vendors), under contracts that require appropriate protection of data;
- Integration partners you connect (for example, eBay or Meta / Facebook) to perform actions you authorize;
- Professional advisers (lawyers, accountants, insurers) where necessary;
- Authorities or third parties when required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security;
- Business transfers in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this Privacy Policy or equivalent protections.
8. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, protect accounts, measure performance, and complete checkout flows (including returning you to the correct page after authentication). You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling certain cookies may limit features such as staying signed in or completing subscription checkout.
9. Marketing communications and your choices
We may send promotional emails or product updates if you opt in or where permitted by law. You may opt out of marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link in a message or by contacting us. Opting out of marketing does not affect transactional or account-related messages (for example, billing receipts, security alerts, or subscription notices).
Where required by law, we obtain consent before sending marketing communications and honor opt-out requests promptly.
10. Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Services, maintain business records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and comply with legal obligations. When data is no longer required, we delete or de-identify it consistent with our retention practices and applicable law.
After you delete your account, we remove organization data from active systems as described in Section 12. We may retain limited records where required by law — for example tax, billing, fraud-prevention, or security audit logs — for the period required by applicable law, after which we delete or de-identify them.
11. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and monitoring. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; please use a strong password and enable multi-factor authentication when available.
12. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information we hold about you; to restrict or object to certain processing; and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
Self-service (account owner). If you are the master account owner, you can download a copy of your account data or permanently delete your organization and data from Account on the salvagelogix.com owner dashboard. Deletion requires email confirmation and cannot be undone. It removes data for all users on the account. Cancel any paid subscription before deleting if you no longer want recurring charges.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA). You may have the right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose; to request deletion or correction; to opt out of “sale” or “sharing” as defined by California law (we do not sell your personal information); to limit use of sensitive personal information where applicable; and not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising privacy rights. Use the dashboard tools above or contact us using Section 16. We verify identity before fulfilling requests.
Other U.S. state privacy laws. Residents of Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Oregon, Texas, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws may have similar rights to access, delete, correct, and obtain a portable copy of personal data. Contact us or use the owner dashboard tools in this Section.
EEA, UK, and Switzerland (GDPR). Where GDPR or equivalent law applies, you may have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and data portability; to withdraw consent; and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Our legal bases for processing are described in Section 5. For international transfers, see Section 13. We respond within timeframes required by applicable law.
13. International users
Salvage Logix is based in the United States. If you access the Services from outside the U.S., your information may be processed in the U.S. and other countries where we or our service providers operate. Those countries may have different data protection laws than your country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.
14. Children
The Services are intended for businesses and individuals at least 18 years of age (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy at salvagelogix.com/privacy and update the “Last updated” date. For material changes, we may also notify you by email or through the Services. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy where permitted by law.
16. Contact us
For privacy questions, requests to exercise your rights, or concerns about this Privacy Policy, contact Salvage Logix at support@salvagelogix.com or through our contact form on salvagelogix.com and include “Privacy Request” in your message. We will respond within a reasonable time and as required by applicable law.
